The Christmas Hospital visits are firmly established in the blues calendar and something that the players look forward to over the festive period.
Speaking at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, Cardiff Blues, Wales and Lions star Jamie Roberts said,
"We all enjoy meeting the young supporters and if we can bring some festive cheer to them when they sadly have to stay in Hospital over Christmas then we are more than happy to help."
"We have visited the hospitals for a number of years now and feel that it is important to engage with everyone in the community."
"The young supporters have shown great bravery spending time away from their family over Christmas."
"We are very lucky to be fit and healthy and are fortunate that we can bring a smile to the youngsters faces by simply giving up our free time and spending time with them."
The Cardiff Blues face the Newport Gwent Dragons on Sunday the 27th of December, and there is sure to be a warm welcome to the Dragons supporters for their first visit to the new Cardiff City Stadium.
Cardiff Blues, Media and Marketing Manager added,
"The Blues are totally committed to our community responsibility around the region and it is a commitment that the players enjoy."
"We have visited the children's wards in the three hospitals for a number of years and it is great that we are able to give something back over the festive period."
"We have received tremendous support from the fans over the season's and if we can do just a little to pay their loyalty back then we are more than glad to be able to do so."
"Some children have to unfortunately spend Christmas in hospital away from their loved ones. Hopefully meeting their rugby heroes can bring a bit of joy to them."
