My family weren't massive rugby followers, although my sister used to watch games, but I've banned her from coming with me now though due to the comments she makes, normally about the aesthetics of the players rather than the play. I'd normally go to see a game with friends, and it was my best friend Steve that got me watching rugby.
What was your first Cardiff game?
The first game I saw was the Schweppes Cup Final at the old national stadium, it was 1996 I think, Nigel Walker sprinted down the left wing to score a great try.
Most memorable match?
The one that sticks in my mind, is the 28-9 win away at the Ospreys. It was their first season at the new ground, and we punched holes in their defence almost at will. I reckon we could have scored 40 points, but had to settle for three tries to nil! I felt like I was the only Blues fan in the stand, and had to hide my shirt under my coat in the pub afterwards.
Favourite all-time Cardiff player?
The greatest all time Cardiff player has to be Gareth Edwards, but he was a bit before my time, so in terms of just the Blues era, I'd say Martyn Williams is my favourite. Such a top player, for Cardiff RFC, Cardiff Blues and for Wales over so many years.
Did you ever play rugby yourself? Were you any good?
I didn't play a great deal. I was very small when I was young, too small for rugby, so I stuck to the round ball game.
Prediction for the Dragons match on 27th December?
It's going to be very tight, as the Dragons have been playing well, they don't get the same disruptions as the other regions, hopefully we'll just do them, and stop them getting anything from the match. A home win by 8 points
What are your favourite aspects of the Premier Club?
Its just very handy for taking people to the game. I tend to take people from within the business, other Suzuki people to improve business relationships with them. The Premier Club offers nice surroundings and a great environment for entertaining. You can get used to it as a member, but when you bring new people into the Premier Club, they are always really impressed to rub shoulders with players and management.
What would you like fellow members to know about Jenkins Suzuki?
We are a family business, although we have a history in the industry, this dealership has only been open for 2 years. Business is good, but I'm well aware that the position of Suzuki in the marketplace is not going to be the perfect fit for Premier Club members wishing to buy a new car. The membership for me is a social thing, I enjoy the rugby, and being in Premier Club
What will 2010 bring for Jenkins Suzuki?
Its going to be the best year ever for the dealership, we launch the new Swift in the middle of the year and I'm sure we're going to even busier again next year.
Have you sold any cars to PC members or guests?
We've not sold many to members, but I do know that the Blues Marketing Director has one. I've got good friendship with some other members, the guys at Office Image, Edward Davies and CMB. Its great to socialize with these guys in Premier Club at the match.
What would be your perfect Xmas present?
Two Christmas derby victories would suit me perfectly.
What's the worst present you've ever been given?
I've had a few shockers, but a letter opener is probably the worst I can remember.
