Cardiff Blues Confirm Pre Season Friendlies

Cardiff Blues will play pre season friendlies against Bath and Pontypridd this August
Bath have highly rated full back Nick Abendanon in their squad and it could be a first outing for their new fly half Stephen Donald as he is set to join his teammates at The Rec earlier than expected after missing on a place in the New Zealand World Cup squad.
The Blues start their pre-season fixtures with a match against regional club Pontypridd RFC at Sardis Road. The Principality Premiership club had a great last season winning the Swalec Cup Final and narrowly missing out on winning the Principality Premiership title.
The Cardiff Blues versus Bath match is included as part of the 2011/12 season ticket package which costs from as little as £150 for adults in the family stand and offers outstanding value, giving access to a minimum of 16 games that include: all RaboDirect PRO12 home games in regular season, all Heineken Cup home pool matches and all home LV= (Anglo-Welsh) Cup pool matches.
The closing date for the early bird double discount on season tickets is Thursday 30 June, with the discount of up to £50 available to the majority of season ticket holders.
All Cardiff Blues supporters who purchase 2011/12 season tickets by this date will also be put into a draw and the first two hundred names pulled out of the hat will all be given a pair of tickets, worth £36, for the Glamorgan v Gloucestershire T20 match to be played on Friday 15 July at 7.10pm.
Existing season ticket holders can also upgrade to other areas in the stadium and take advantage of the double Early bird discount applicable in that area, as well as getting a seat in a better area.

The Blues have played Bath three times in recent seasons, all memorable fixtures in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, with the Blues winning twice and losing once last season despite Fly Half Gareth Davies scoring 19 points.
Perhaps the most memorable (and arguably wettest) occasion was the 14-6 win against a then unbeaten Bath team when a length of the field break led to a try for Robin Sowden Taylor.
