The internship will run for the entire length of the 2011/12 season, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to experience life in a professional sporting environment.

This season's internship would suit a student looking to fill a year-long work placement, or a recent graduate looking to break into the sports Media / Marketing industry.

Duties will include:

• Writing copy and helping to produce Blues match day programme, official website and all commercial and marketing literature
• Helping to run the Blues press office, both during the week and on a match day
• General PR, events and promotion and also Marketing administration
• Marketing events and matches to students
• Providing administrative support to the sales and marketing team
• Assisting with the implementation of season ticket and match day marketing campaigns
• Maintaining and updating marketing databases
• Updating Cardiff Blues social media sites
• Providing match day support to marketing team
• Producing competitive research reports
• Dealing with supporters queries and enquiries
• Assist with the delivery of marketing communication to Cardiff Blues Supporters

The suitable candidate will possess excellent writing skills, strong I.T. skills, a good eye for detail and have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; therefore, experience in journalism and/or producing publications would be beneficial. Knowledge of Cardiff Blues and rugby union in general is preferable, but not essential. Please note that this role will involve working at weekends and some unsocial hours.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a significant portfolio across a number of PR and Marketing fields, as well as working alongside the Community, Sales and Sponsorship departments within one of the world's best known rugby clubs.
