Busy weekend for Blues stars at local clubs

Cardiff Blues players will be out in force this weekend as part of their Adopt a Player initiative
It also allows clubs to request players to present trophies and certificates to the mini and junior players. Since its launch in 2005 the scheme has gone from strength to strength.
Last Sunday Cardiff Blues Player of the Year, Andries Pretorius, visited Treorchy RFC which proved a big hit with the youngsters.
Jeff Pugh, the Treorchy RFC Minis and Junior Secretary said,
"I'd like to thank the Blues for arranging Andries to attend our mini and junior presentations over the weekend, which was a great success."
"A more professional player we could not have asked for, the guy is an absolute credit to the Blues. He's a true gentleman and was polite and patient and showed a genuine interest in what is happening at the club."
"Andries made many new friends at the club and hopefully many new young fans for the Blues."
Cardiff Blues' star centre Casey Laulala also proved a hit at Rhiwbina RFC
"On behalf of Rhiwbina RFC I'd like to say a big thank you to you for organising Casey's appearance at the U10 District Tournament on Sunday," said Cath Brobin of Rhiwbina RFC.
"It really made the boys day all the better having a Blues player to hand out their trophies."
Further afield T Rhys Thomas visited Treherbert RFC
"I'd like to thank the Blues for making Rhys available for our under 15's training session last week, the boys really enjoyed themselves."
"Rhys was very generous with his time, particular with the lineout drills he went through, which obviously worked as in our game against Ebbw Vale on Sunday the lineout was the best it has been all season and was commented on by the Ebbw Vale coaches," said Christopher Jones of Treherbert RFC
