The draw for each round of the cup was eagerly awaited with a number of entertaining fixtures producing upsets and cup shocks as teams got the chance to play other sides they would not normally face.
On the day, there were five cup final fixtures in total for Under 10s, Under 11s, Under 12s, Under 13s and Under 15s. The Under 14s final was delayed as a number of players from both finalists, St Peters and Pontypridd, were on tour in Italy.
Teams in Blues South, most notably Cardiff teams, dominated proceedings with Rumney lifting the trophy at Under 10s defeating Treharris, Rhiwbina were the champions at Under 11s and St Albans at Under 13s, plus there was a repeat of the Dewar Shield success for Cardiff Schools as they once again triumphed over Rhondda Schools at Under 15s.
Pontypridd bucked the trend of South defeating North, in an exciting, high scoring Under 12s final against Cowbridge. Both teams produced an entertaining game, playing attractive rugby and despite Cowbridge leading comfortably early on, Pontypridd hit back to steal the victory and lift the cup for the North.
