Home Form a Bonus to Blues

With two bonus point wins at Cardiff City Stadium in the first two league games, home form for the Blues is certainly giving the team a boast at the start of 2010/11, particularly when compared to last season.

Following the move to Cardiff City Stadium in Summer 2009, the Blues did not start the season as they would have liked, losing four out of the first five league matches including home defeats to Edinburgh and Glasgow and only a narrow win against the Scarlets gave the fans anything to smile about. However, despite giving themselves an uphill task, the team finished in fine form with a winning run that culminated in Amlin Challenge Cup success and a historic day in Marseille.

The Blues have largely continued the form of the second half of last season into the new campaign, scoring ten tries in the opening three league games. Next up is a tricky trip to play Benetton Treviso, who have already taken the scalps of Leinster and the Scarlets at home in their first forays in the Magners League (Treviso v Blues Friday 24th Sept).

The Blues return to Cardiff City Stadium to play a rejuvenated Connacht (Thursday 30th Sept, ko 7.05pm), who have also picked up wins in two out of three games. Cardiff Blues have won 11 out of 14 meetings with Connacht, and will be hoping to extend that record to continue the positive start to the league before attentions switch to the Heineken Cup and the return of Edinburgh to the welsh capital.

For tickets to see the next Blues home league game against Connacht or the opener against Edinburgh call 0845 345 1400 or buy online www.cardiffblues.com/tickets. Tickets for the Connacht game are priced at only £10 for adults and £5 for children.

Plus to celebrate the arrival of the Ryder Cup to Wales, the Blues have teamed up with Vale Resort to give fans the chance to win a round of Golf with Blues players. For more information on this competition follow this link>>
