French speaking Irish referee Alain Rolland has been confirmed as the referee of the 2009/10 Amlin Challenge Cup final between Toulon and Cardiff Blues.
The final, to be played in Marseille on Sunday 23rd May will be Rolland's 62nd ERC fixture. Rolland will take charge of an all Irish officials team with Alan Lewis and George Clancy acting as touch judges for the fixture.
Rolland refereed the 2004 Heineken Cup final and the 2007 Rugby World Cup final but this will be the first time he has presided over a Challenge Cup final.
Judgement Day IV is nearly upon us. The showpiece event, held for the fourth year running at the Principality Stadium, will see Cardiff Blues facing Ospreys, followed by the clash between Scarlets and the Dragons.
For the past two seasons you may have noticed an artist in the crowd and drawings appearing on twitter and TV. These collections of drawings were all produced from life, on the spot without the use of a camera in order to capture the vibrancy, emotion and atmosphere of the moment.
