French speaking Irish referee Alain Rolland has been confirmed as the referee of the 2009/10 Amlin Challenge Cup final between Toulon and Cardiff Blues.
The final, to be played in Marseille on Sunday 23rd May will be Rolland's 62nd ERC fixture. Rolland will take charge of an all Irish officials team with Alan Lewis and George Clancy acting as touch judges for the fixture.
Rolland refereed the 2004 Heineken Cup final and the 2007 Rugby World Cup final but this will be the first time he has presided over a Challenge Cup final.
