The ERC have received a citing complaint against Blues Flanker Martyn Williams, following the Round 1 Heineken Cup match against Edinburgh.

The ERC have received a citing complaint against Blues Flanker Martyn Williams, following the Round 1 Heineken Cup match against Edinburgh.

Williams, who this summer picked up the ERC European Fair Play Award, is alleged to have dropped his knee into the face of Edinburgh full back, Chris Paterson, during the first-half.
The hearing will take place in Dublin this Wednesday.
Law 10.4(a) ‘A player must not strike an opponent with the knee(s)’.
IRB recommended sanction - Low End: 3 weeks; Mid Range: 8 weeks: Top End: 12+ weeks; Maximum: 52 weeks
