Trailing 24 - 15 with a few minutes to go, Cardiff found two tries, one from Owen Ruttley, the other from Matthew John that seemed to have sealed the win, only for Tom Hetherington to score the match-winning try in the final move of the game. Player of the Tournament Dean Gunter put over the resulting conversion to crown the 31-27 win.

It was a pulsating finale which entertained the crowd, and where the lead changed hands five times. Pontypridd were an impressive unit throughout, scoring 159 pts and conceding just 41 in their four games, captain Chris Dicomidis leading the way with 4 tries - joint top try scorer alongside David Gratton.

Cardiff RFC now start their warm-up to the Principality Premiership with a friendly match against Bargoed away on Saturday while Pontypridd take on Birmingham & Solihull at Sardis Road, also on Saturday.
