Cardiff Blues North opened their busy pre season campaign with a workmanlike victory over a very courageous and committed Blues North Development xv at Abercwmboi Rfc on Friday Night.
In a tough opening half with no quarter given the Blues north team scored tries through Centre Thomas Pascoe ”Mountain Ash RFC “2, Lewis Williams “Tonyrefail RFC” and Nathan King “Pontypridd RFC” with 3 conversions coming from the reliable boot of Williams.
In the second half they scored a further 3 tries through Centre Owain Rees “Merthyr RFC” and club mate Ian Hassett on his comeback from missing most of last season with a broken ankle! The nights work was completed when a slick backline move led to Sean Webber of “Tylorstown RFC” crashing over for the final score, Garin Thomas “Treharris” converted 2 to make the final score Blues North u16’s 45 - Development squad 0.

On the horizon next for the Blues North are games with the Blues South on 13th of August and Truro College on the 20th of August before the First fixture in the Reebok Inter Regional competition against Llanelli Scarlet’s at the end of the Month.
