Sowden Taylor injury news

24th March 2008

Cardiff Blues can confirm that having had an x ray on the weekend, Robin Sowden Taylor will have a scan on Thursday to assess the extent of the damage to his shoulder, sustained during the match against the Llanelli Scarlets last Friday.

A tackle by Scarlets prop Deacon Manu forced Sowden Taylor to leave the field and initial results of the x ray are that he sustained an injury to the AC joint.

It is hoped that the scan will determine whether Robin will need any surgery on the injury.

Deacon Manu, the Llanelli Scarlets prop forward, will appear before a WRU Disiplinary Committee in Cardiff on Wednesday, 26 March following a citing complaint from Robert Williams, the Citing commissioner for the match. Manu cited for an alleged dangerous charge of an opponent without the ball, including shouldering.

Gary Powell also strained a tendon in his right foot during the match and is doubtful for the trip to Edinburgh.
