Although the weather put paid to the Ospreys' opening fixture in North Wales last month, the region's success at the Dragons and a bonus point victory over Blues South (31-7) has kept them on the coat-tails of the Scarlets going into tomorrow's game at Sardis Road, Pontypridd.

That promises to be a tight affair with the North hoping to use home advantage to get their season on the road after defeats against the Dragons, Gogledd Cymru and the Scarlets.

Callum Phillips, who helped himself to nine points in the 28-14 defeat at the Scarlets last time out, will be key to the North's chances, whilst Kieran Davies will be looking to add to the brace of tries he scored in Colwyn Bay when the side went down 34-24 to Gogledd Cymru.

Meanwhile three successive victories, against Gogledd Cymru (34-0), Blues South (32-21) and Blues North (28-14), has placed the Scarlets on top of the pile with outside half Jordan Williams already past 50 points for the season.

However, tomorrow evening, the leaders face a difficult trip to the Recreation Ground Tredegar to play a Dragons side who kicked off the season with a resounding 25-11 victory over Blues North at Merthyr.

That remains their only victory of the new season to date, although their two defeats, against the Ospreys and Blues South, have been by three and four points respectively.

The hosts will be looking to the likes of Ethan Davies to fire them to victory - the excellent youngster kicked eight points in the victory over Blues North at the beginning of last month and crossed for two tries when the side went down 15-12 to the Ospreys two weeks later. His two penalties also kept the side within touching distance of the Blues South at Taffs Well before the home side ran out 24-20 winners.
