"The performances of the team have boosted attendances this season and our aim for Sunday is to beat the cross border match record of 10,500 supporters. Obviously this will be a challenge as fewer away supporters travel over from Ireland than from Gwent. We have used a variety of platforms to market the game to our supporters with adverts in the South Wales Echo, radio ads on Red Dragon FM, competitions on BBC online, ITV Wales News and placing posters in pubs and shops around the region, as well as using our website and emails to promote the game have worked well. We also used direct mail to target the Junior Clubs and Schools in the region and the response has been phenomenal. Builth Wells Primary School in Powys are bringing 41 children and 55 adults, Edwardsville Primary School in Treharris have bought 64 tickets, Albany Road Primary School in Cardiff 53 tickets and Ysgol Gymraeg Castellau in Pontypridd 78 tickets. Everyone at the Blues have been working tirelessly over the last weeks to make sure we get the biggest crowd possible." Said Gwydion Griffiths, Cardiff Blues Media and Marketing Officer.
Dozens of other clubs and schools have taken advantage of the offer of HALF PRICE TICKETS', £2.50 for children and £5 for adults subject to a minimum order of 10 tickets and season ticket holders have also taken advantage of the one additional half price ticket offer while Junior Blues season ticket holders can receive one free ticket to bring a friend to the match.
Thousands of fans also bought tickets for the game at the special price of £10 for adults and £5 for children and earlier in the week the Blues drafted in star players Rhys Williams, Marc Stcherbina and Xavier Rush to help out with the ticket sales
