The airline also made dreams come true for five children from Gwenfo Primary School who were all winners in a competition devised by the airline to design a 4th birthday card. The overall winner, picked by Arms Park favourite, Gareth Edwards, was Thetis Drewelus (aged 11).
Thetis, will see her winning birthday card design put up as a poster at the airport and it will also be featured in bmibaby's on board magazine, yeahbaby. Thetis who has never been on a plane before also won a £100 travel credit for her family on any of bmibaby's services departing from Cardiff, book tokens, tickets for four to see the Cardiff Blues vs Leicester game this weekend and lots of other goodies.
The runner ups, Abi Burnford (aged 9), Holly Findlay (aged 11), Alex Riley (aged 10) and Katy Sharpe (aged 10) all received tickets for four to the Cardiff Blues vs Leicester game and plenty of bmibaby goodies. All the children then went on a unique airside tour to see what happens with a bmibaby aircraft when it lands.

Demand for our services has always been strong and bmibaby remain committed to offering consistently lower fares to a wide range of European destinations. We will continue to support community initiatives such as Cardiff Winter Wonderland.
I would personally like to thank everyone from Gwenfo Primary School for taking part in our celebrations today and for the brilliant card designs. We clearly have some budding artists."
