Director of Coaching David Young said,
"Craig Quinnell and James Goode have both suffered injuries while Deiniol Jones is unavailable, so we have had to draft in Chris Dicomidis from Pontypridd as cover on the bench."
Kort Schubert Captain of the USA national team is bought into the side which takes the team to their maximum number of foreign players, the other being New Zealander, Xavier Rush.
Cardiff Blues Chief Executive Robert Norster said "It's a major disappointment for us to be without Jonah this weekend due to our competitions ruling on 'Foreign Players'. A spate of injury issues to our forward pack has necessitated an enforced change which leads to the big man being unable to return to play against Edinburgh."
The Cardiff Blues have only played 2 games since the end of January as the Celtic league took time out whilst the Six nations and Heineken cup quarter finals were on. This meant there were no games in February with 2 games played in March.
"The last few months have been frustrating, I've been training hard but I've been missing playing rugby during the Six Nations. I'm feeling great, the body's on track and I'm looking forward to getting back into it as the season gets going in April and May." Said Lomu
Lomu arrived in Wales four and a half months ago to take up the 7 month contract with the Cardiff Blues and is now heading into the final two months of the season. Having played in 9 games this season he is happy with his progression. His huge frame has slimmed down to 117kg. The Blues are sitting 5th on the league table at present and a win this weekend against Edinburgh would see them shift into 4th setting them up for a possible top three placing.
Jonah is looking forward to being a part of helping the Blues achieve their potential in this year's competition before returning home to New Zealand in preparation for the coming NPC season.
