Attending the session were Dai Young - Director of Coaching, Rob Howley -Backs Coach, and Richard Webster - Forwards Coach. Each offered invaluable advice to aspiring coaches and offered one to one advice on each aspect of the game."This is a great opportunity for the Blues and the clubs within the region to meet and discuss ideas. Hopefully the expertise we as a coaching team have will benefit the coaches and the regional teams. That can only be good news for rugby within the whole region. There is a real pathway in the region we now believe will enable any youngster to make it. The raw talent within the area is very exciting and our academy representation at national level is frightening. It is going to take a couple of years but we have a lot of good people working from top to bottom. There are a number of workaholics who are determined to make the region a success. We have eight development officers and 14 community people working with the young players and bringing them through.'" Dai Young said.

Mike Williams head Coach at Abercynon RFC added "It's excellent that the Blues are holding these coaching clinics and it is sure to benefit us as coaches and the players. We already have a lot of contact with the coaches and the Blues region is definitely working. We were all delighted that one of our former players Rhys Thomas went on to play for the Blues and won his first cap, he's the first player from Abercynon RFC to do so and we're all chuffed for him".
