Robert Norster, Cardiff Blues Chief Executive said;

“We have taken the decision as last season’s match at the National Stadium was recognised to be a great success by the overwhelming majority of our traditional and newer supporters. For this match we will be using both the middle and the lower tiers, with ticket promotions ensuring that it should be a great day out for family’s and all the junior clubs throughout the region.”

“We continue to cast the net further in the way that we promote the team and endeavour to ensure that we cater for all supporters some of whom may not have watched the Blues in the past. The event will provide the opportunity for many more to watch the Cardiff Blues take on one of the powerhouses of European rugby in one of the world’s finest stadiums.”

Paul Sergeant, Millennium stadium chief executive said:

“We were collectively delighted with the outcome of Millennium Stadium hosting the Blues v Leinster fixture last season and on the back of this success we welcome our neighbours and a thrilling fixture against Leicester Tigers”.

“Leicester took the 2003 Heineken Cup title at the Stadium and I’m sure the Blues will put on a great performance as they did against Leinster “
