Wednesday 5th October 7.15pm kick off Newport RFC

In atrocious conditions the young Dragons came out on top in an evenly matched contest.

With a strong wind in their favour the Dragons capitalised on some ill discipline by the young Blues with two first half penalties by outside half Naill Martin. The Blues had their opportunities but lack of patients and accuracy resulted in them going into the break scoreless.

With the elements in their favour the Blues started the second half the strongest. A Gareth Thompson penalty mid way through the half brought the score to 6 – 3 in the Dragons favour. With minutes left to play the Blues continued to pressurise the Dragons defence but ill discipline resulting in a Dragons penalty enabling them to kick the ball deep into the Blues half. The Dragons took advantage of this and eventually second row Derryn Jones crossed for the games only try.

The Dragons unbeaten run continues.
