Star duo help launch Memory Walk

22nd September 2015

Cardiff Blues aces Gareth Anscombe and Dan Fish helped thousands of people as they hit the streets of Cardiff Bay last weekend for the Alzheimer's Society Memory Walk.

The region has teamed up with Alzheimer’s Society as charity partners this season to increase awareness and raise funds to help people live well with dementia today and for research to find a cure for tomorrow.

And Anscombe and Fish were in the Welsh capital on Saturday morning as almost 3,000 took part in the flagship event to raise funds to support research and services for people living with dementia.
Walkers, many of whom walked in memory of loved ones they have lost to the disease, also penned poignant messages which were hung on a special tree outside Wales Millennium Centre

There are 3,726 people living with dementia in Cardiff and 45,000 people across Wales.

The Alzheimer’s Society fund services that support people living with dementia, their families and carers. These include day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring.
