The Cardiff Blues Academy is currently recruiting for a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Cardiff Blues are delighted to announce that the position of Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach has recently become available. Working in a dynamic and flourishing environment, the successful candidate will take a lead role in planning, delivering and reviewing all strength and conditioning elements of the Academy in line with the clubs physical development protocols. The main focus of the role is on individual player development.

WRPA Personal Development Manager.

Job Title: Personal Development Manager (Dragons & Cardiff Blues)

Base: CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence, Ystrad Mynach

Contract: Permanent (Full time - 37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £35,000 per anum

This is an exciting time for the WRPA and its members. The WRPA is looking for an experienced and motivated person who will lead the Personal Development Program in the Dragons and Cardiff Blues regions.

Role Summary

This position is part of the Welsh Rugby Players Association Personal Development Programme. The Programme's focus is to support, guide and assist players in identifying and navigating their individual pathways to success, both on and off the field. It is designed to have an impact on players for life - during and after their rugby playing career. Key focus areas include career, education, life skills development, well being and transition management both into and out of the professional rugby environment.

Skills & Experience required:

The PDM role will see the successful candidate interact with senior and academy players in an elite environment on a daily basis. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with players, club officials and external businesses are therefore essential.

A rugby background and interest is preferable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in some or all of the following areas:

  • Experience of professional/elite sports environment and the welfare issues faced by professional athletes

  • Experience of career planning and career change with adults

  • Business experience, networks and contacts

  • Experience of learning and development programmes

  • Experience of outplacement and/or recruitment

  • Confident presenting skills and an ability to train groups

  • Experience of performance lifestyle or equivalent programmes within professional/elite sport

  • Experience of coaching and mentoring with adults0

WRPA PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Job Title: Personal Development Officer (Dragons & Cardiff Blues)

Base: Cardiff Blues Pavilion, The Vale of Glamorgan

Contract: The personal development officer is an initial 9-month contract (20 hours per week)

(1 October 2017 to 31 June 2018) with the potential to progress into a full time role subject to review.

Salary: £18,500 pro-rata

Stewards

Cardiff Blues Limited is currently looking to recruit Safety Stewards to become part of our Safety Management Team.

Role Responsibility:

As a Safety Steward you will be helping in all manner of ways including, but not limited to:0• Ticket checking0• Directing spectators to specific areas0• Crowd safety duties0• Hospitality stewarding0• Car park duties0• Providing general help and guidance to spectators

You must be at least 18 years old and ideally you will have previous stewarding or customer care experience, however this is not essential as ground specific training will be provided, and you could also be considered for one of the in-house courses that we run. Good verbal communication skills and a common sense approach are essential. An aptitude to working with the public, a friendly, approachable and professional manner are all important but, above all, flexibility is key.

Casual Bar Staff

As a member of our customer-facing team, you will be responsible for delivering top quality service and ensuring all non- alcoholic and alcoholic beverages are presented to our high standards.

The role involves keeping the bar and front-of-house area clean and tidy at all times. You will be expected to keep up to date with current promotions and new products, as well as adhere to all company policies, procedures and licensing laws. We would encourage you to get involved and contribute to our team.

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be professional and well presented - able to communicate clearly with people at all levels. You should be a self-motivated team player able to work unsupervised in a busy environment.
