There have been some big changes to our community programme, here is a brief outline of their duties.
Player Participation Development Officers
Set up and run Leisure Rugby Commercial Programmes such as WRU Little Stars, WRU Rugby Stars Camps. Run alternative game programmes such as yr 7 and 8 Secondary Schools Touch Programme, Touch Leagues, Back to Sport alternatives hybrid formats of the game that re-engage people back into rugby and a social setting. Increase participation and new children experiencing the game via 4 week fundamental sessions at yrs 3&4, 5&6 and cluster festivals for Primary Schools.
Player Development Officers
Increase Club membership via assisting clubs to maximise their current numbers or to start up new age groups, Increase Junior and Adult Club membership for womens and girls rugby via setting up and running Development Centres, running development sessions at Universities, Colleges, running of Regional U18's Competition and Skills Training. Player Development Programmes such as running Secondary Schools Festivals at year 7, 8 and 9, delivering 4 week Skills Programmes in 80% of their area Secondary Schools, Run 2 Club festivals at U12/13, 1 Club Festival at U14. Officers run Talent Identification Programmes for U12's, U13's and U14's, 10 Week Skill Development Centres at U14's. They are lead Officers with the U15's Dewar Shield Programme and U16's and U18's Regional Development Programmes.
