Pontypridd RFC won the SWALEC Cup for a second successive season in Sunday's final against Cross Keys at the Millennium Stadium as the region enjoyed a hat-trick of success of a huge day for rugby in Wales.
The win for Pontypridd saw the side become the first team to win the league and cup two seasons in a row.
Paul John's men avenged their 2012 final defeat at the hand of Keys with tries from Craig Locke and Gavin Dacey and 11 points from the boot of Blues fly half Simon Humberstone.
Earlier in the day Merthyr held out in a dramatic Plate final to beat Rhiwbina 29-26 at the same venue. Brett Chatwin and Sion Summers got Rhiwbina off to a flying start but they were eventually out-muscled by the Ironmen.
Louis Millar and Chatwin scored late tries to pull the Squirrels back to within three, but Merthyr survived a late scare to take home the Plate.
The Ironmen replied just moments later through full-back Fyle. The full-back dummied his way through the Rhiwbina's defence and touched down to pull his side back to within seven points.
It wasn't long before Merthyr's Flanker Davies found a gap in the opposition defence to complete their 12 point comeback.
Morgan scored his second try soon after, the speedy winger rounded his opposite man and dived over in the same corner. Way then crashed over for Merthyr's fifth try to seal the win.
In the Bowl Final, Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd beat Llantwit Major 16-10.
Oliver Jenkins kicked two penalties and Paul Davies went for the try, converted by Jenkins who went on to add a third penalty. Llantwit prop David Taylor scored a try with Ryan Evans converting and kicking a penalty.
